Hurricane Season

Living in the South, We all know the “Blue Tarp” look- Will your house or business fall victim to this?

Now- with no storm brewing, it is the best time to make sure your roof is prepared for the most extreme winds a Hurricane can bring. Which could be 155MPH or higher.

Metal Roofs are considered to be the most resistant roofing material to hail, wind, and fire.

Metal Roofs offer the highest warranty (40 years and up) but are also the most expensive.  However, since their life is longer and they can withstand more of nature’s effects, they may actually end up more cost-efficient in the long run.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Below are two pictures, both taken in Punta Gorda, FL. The most surprising thing, the pictures are taken only 200 yards away from one another.

Due to the way metal roofing panels are constructed and installed, metal roofs have extremely high resistance to wind damage, such as Hurricanes. Unlike roofing Shingles (bottom left), Vertical Seam Metal Roofs are installed with a continuous piece that extends the entire way from the eave (lowest part of the roof) to the ridge (highest part of the roof). Making it more difficult for wind to get under the panels. Versus the Shingles, that are attached individually and stacked over one another.
