When installing a Metal Roof, it is a great idea to vent your ridge.
By venting your ridge, there will be an open airway for the hot air to escape. You can eliminate the attic vents you have now, which will mean that you will not have to cut the panel to fit around them or purchase "goosenecks" to fit over the top of them.
The ridge vent will allow more air to escape which will save more money on energy costs and will be hidden under you ridge cap so there is no unsightly hardware. We carry a full line of accessories, which include solid closures that are contoured to the panel shape, along with either vented strips that are contoured to the panel or strips of venting to prevent any bugs, spiders, bats, snakes, wind or water to intrude underneath the ridge cap.
This venting allows the air to escape the roof but keeps all of the unwanted elements out. Once you've vented your ridge you can place the vented strips near that area and use the solid closures to seal the rest of the roof.
As an added benefit, we also suggest using closures at the end of your panel, closest underneath the metal. So now the roof has adequate ventilation and is protected from intrusions.
